Hello internet-chums!

For the past few weeks I’ve been drawing a new comic that I’ll be working on regularly and updating once a week for your beautiful eyes to peruse. You can find the tumblr here: CLICK MEEEE.

There’s nothing there yet! There are quite a number of you following me here and it’d be great to see y’all following me over there too.

I told you around June I’d be able to update regularly and this new adventure is me making good on that promise! (The chumswap tumblr will remain the random dumping ground of drawings, sketches, and stand-alone comix it has been since its birth.)

Grimfuzzy will update Sunday nights at midnight so when you find yourself at work Monday morning wanting to stab your pens in your eyes, you can look at it instead! Page one will be up this weekend.

There’s a story I want to tell. It’s a long story. And it’s not a particularly happy story. So I’ve been trying to come up with an appropriate aesthetic that does it justice.

Most of my natural drawings look like this. I have a love-hate relationship with them. Maybe If I stare at them here I’ll have a little more love for them and a little less hate and then I can finally move forward.

Here’s a fun game to play — do a google image search for “people faces,” pick the scariest ones to draw, cross-hatch the shit out of them, and voila! You have a set of disgusting portraits that look like bad tattoos!

There is a warmth that gets lost in the translation of paper -> scanner -> computer that I haven’t yet figured out how to avoid, if it’s even possible.

I hope your Saturday was as lovely as mine. I had a BLT and it was pretty good.
